Star defenseman Patrick Wiercioch (Maple Grove, British Columbia) has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Denver and play hockey, two-time National Coach of the Year George Gwozdecky announced today.

UM Assistant Coach Slominski Named Head Coach at Edina High School
University of Minnesota women's hockey assistant coach Laura Slominski has taken the head coaching position at Edina High School and will leave the university after a two-year stint. Slominski, a former Golden Gopher athlete from 1998-2002, will become the head coach of the Hornets and will also teach math for Valley View Middle School in Edina.
